Cleaning Robot News, October 2026

Autonomous scrubbers are entering airports, solar plants are getting dedicated panel-cleaning robots and home vacuums keep adding abilities. These figures and updates show where cleaning automation stands today.

What moved in cleaning robotics this year.

TrinaTracker unveils Aurora, a self-powered robot for cleaning solar panels

· Launch

Solar tracker maker TrinaTracker launched Aurora, a self-powered robot that cleans panels in utility-scale plants without an operator. It works in cyclic cleaning patterns and copes with terrain height variations of up to 50 millimeters. It debuted alongside Buildex, an installation robot. Pricing and availability were not given.

Why it matters: Panel-cleaning robots are being designed together with the tracker systems they ride on. Plant owners should ask how a cleaner fits the tracker, where it parks and charges, and what the maker supports.

Dreame shows a stair-climbing vacuum and an arm-equipped window robot at IFA

· Launch

At IFA 2026 Dreame presented the Cyber X, a legged and tracked system designed to carry a vacuum between floors, the T16 Pro Heat wet-and-dry vacuum for kitchen grease, and the Pano10 window-cleaning robot, which uses an arm to reach corners and edges. The release gave no prices or release dates.

Why it matters: Home cleaners are gaining stairs, grease and glass edges, jobs that used to need a person. Check floor layouts, docking space and local service before choosing a model, since features vary widely.

ABM pilots floor scrubbers, vacuums and an inspection robot at LaGuardia

· Deployment

Facility services firm ABM and LaGuardia Gateway Partners began a robotics pilot in Terminal B at New York's LaGuardia Airport. It uses CenoBots autonomous scrubbers that run up to six hours, CenoBots vacuums and a four-legged inspection robot from Skild AI. ABM says staff can focus on guest-facing work.

Why it matters: Airports test cleaning robots hard: long hours, crowds and tight schedules. A Pilot program on The Humanoid Group scopes one concourse or zone with agreed coverage measures before any fleet decision.

The Ocean Cleanup readies its first Interceptor in the Philippines

· Milestone

The Ocean Cleanup announced its first Interceptor in the Philippines, on the Meycauayan River near Manila Bay, replacing an existing trash trap before debris reaches the bay. It expects the system to be running by June 2026. The river system releases an estimated 370 to 540 metric tons of plastic a year.

Why it matters: Water cleanup is planned river by river: size the barrier to the plastic load, then match it with local collection. Port and city buyers should ask who handles the waste, not only who supplies the machine.

Tennant and Brain Corp extend their floor-care robot partnership by three years

· Partnership

Floor-care maker Tennant and autonomy software firm Brain Corp agreed a three-year exclusivity extension for robotic floor cleaning. Tennant leads sales and service, Brain Corp supplies its BrainOS platform, and the pair plan 10 new products within 24 months. Brain Corp says more than 40,000 robots run on its software.

Why it matters: Buyers get one accountable supplier for hardware, software and service instead of two. Facilities with many sites should ask how updates, spares and support are handled in each region.

The Ocean Cleanup wins $121 million to take river cleanup to 30 cities

· Funding

The Ocean Cleanup secured $121 million from The Audacious Project to start its 30 Cities Program, a five-year effort to intercept river plastic before it reaches the sea. The full program needs $350 million. The group says it removed more than 25 million kilograms of trash in 2025.

Why it matters: Philanthropic money is now backing city-scale river cleanup. Local governments planning similar work can use the 30-city scope and the $350 million budget as a rough reference for scale.
